I'm not disappointed that I chose this as a free pick, but I might have been if I'd paid for it. A good book, an enjoyable two nights of reading, but I'm already starting to forget about it. It felt very bland to me, as if I were supposed to be emotionally affected by the story and the main character's plight, and I just... wasn't. It could be that my usual preferred books are fantasy or thrillers where the resolution is life or death, the future of an entire (fictional) world, tragedy and passion, good versus evil. I couldn't stir myself to care much about a housewife's failing marriage. But then I've never been married or had children or even a long term partner, so maybe I'm simply not the best audience for this kind of story. The book did keep my interest all the way through and I was sorry when it ended without more excitement. Bleh.
