I too bought a new GoPro Black edition last week. Out of the box it needed a firmware update but despite charging it all night via USB on my laptop, it didn't have enough battery life to perform the update. Contact GoPro. Answer: "plug it in a wall outlet as it doesn't charge well via USB". Doesn't charge well via USB!?! So I charged it again via wall outlet for several hours. Now battery is full but when trying to perform the update the camera wont turn on because of a temperature warning. Contact GoPro. Answer: "when charging via wall outlet the unit may have temp issues and needs to cool down before use." So I can't charge it by USB and now I need to plan downtime after charging for a cool down period. Camera finally performed the update but when I used it, the battery was already dead (maybe 15 min of runtime). Contact GoPro. Answer: "with Lithium Ion batteries you often need to run several cycles of charge through them. Take video and run the battery down to zero and then recharge several times". So I set the camera to take video in its protective housing and in 5 minutes it overheated again and shut off.
Been using it for a month or 2 now, doesn't work at all, I think it's making be bald faster actually. I think it's basically just menthol....I think, or some chemically altered menthol so it's not labelled that on the container.
