The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) - The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is the foremost national science and technology institution in Ghana. It is mandated to carry out scientific and technological research for national development. The Council was established in its present form by NLC Decree 293 of 10th October, 1968 and re-established by CSIR Act 521 of 26th November, 1996. The Council, however, traces its ancestry to the erstwhile National Research Council (NRC), which was established by the Research Act 21 of August, 1958, a little over a year after independence, to organize and co-ordinate scientific research in Ghana and provide the necessary platform for Ghana’s accelerated development. The Council came into being on 14th February 1959 with a Governing Council, which was chaired by the President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, with Mr. F.E.V. Smith as its Executive Secretary and Mr. S.T. Quansah as Deputy Executive Secretary. Merger and reconstitution. In 1963, the National Research Council was merged with the Ghana Academy of Learning, which had been established in 1958 and renamed the Ghana Academy of Sciences, under the Ghana Academy of Sciences Instrument E.I.5 of 1963. The Academy, therefore, combined the dual roles of a statutory learned society and the organization of national research. The assets and responsibilities of the two organizations were vested in the new Academy. The Academy had responsibility over eleven research institutes and four units and projects with Prof. J. Yanney-Ewusi as its General Secretary.

  • L. Woolner - Paper size problems

After having used Printmaster 11 for years I decided to update to Platinum Version 18. What a waste of time !!! All the paper sizes for Half Fold Cards are Avery, which is OK except they are all based on US sized papers and not A4. In version 11 A4 is listed so you can easily design a card.. In version 18 there is a Custom Paper Wizard in which you can put in paper size you want to use. All very fine but after you have done so it does not work, you spend ages designing the card and when you go to print preview the images do not come our as you would expect. There is a half inch border on the right hand side where the picture should be. Have spent hours online with Broderbund Tech support - another waste of time. All they do is refer you on how to set up your printer. They cannot seem to grasp that in the UK we do not use US size paper stock. Have gone back to using the old Version 11. At least that works !!!

  • Kindle Customer - Good ball.

I'm using them as game balls and they are so easy to see. Some teams aren't thrilled because they are so different from what they practice with but once play starts, that attitude seems to disappear.

  • AmznSFgal - Installation issues for Windows 7

It is rare that I write a review, but I think it could be useful as a forewarning to anyone running Windows 7 who is looking to purchase this. I ran into this problem twice (I exchgd my CD, thinking it was corrupted): an error msg that aborts installation saying, "Third party components are not found." To solve this, the Intuit advisor provides useless help here, but others' suggestions (downloading instead of the CD) are useful: . Note how this has irritated others, not just me! So I bought the downloadable

  • Cynder - So far, so good

I've only had this software for a week so I am hesitant to say that I love it but as each day passes I'm more and more pleased with it. I had installed the Tune Up 1 day trial and liked the result of the first scan so much that I decided to shop for the software itself. The offering online from the product website was four times what it was on Amazon...and it includes the AVG anit-virus (the free version is what I already had on our computers anyway). I was skeptical that it was for 3 users and had the 2013 Anti-Virus and PC Tune-Up but sure enough, after the quick product registering everything is up and running nicely on two computers. There were a few minor issues that I'd been just dealing with repeatedly on my Lenovo desktop that have now been rectified.

  • Dev Laur - Quick, what doesnt LT do?

You will be hard pressed to find something LT doesn't do vs AutoCAD's "full" version. If you need a low-medium grade 2D drafting CAD package, this is it. You don't need the full or mechanical version. So don't be fooled. If you need more, then you need to look at Inventor, Solidworks or Pro-Engineer.
